Printing BlueScreen Error

Recently (as of Tuesday March 9th 2021), Microsoft pushed a bunch of updates. One of which is not playing nice with printing to Kyocera printers, and to Dymo Label writers. Our clients are experiencing issues such as:

  • Hitting print in any program causes the computer to blue screen and restart (APC_INDEX_MISMATCH)
  • Dymo label writer prints half sheets or blank sheets

I do not want to limit the issue to just Dymo and Kyocera printers, as maybe others are experiencing similar issues with other brands too.. But here is what we are doing to fix the ongoing problem:

Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5000802) needs to be uninstalled. We can do this via:

  • Windows Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates
  • Download this txt file, change the file to be a .bat file, and run it.

Once you restart the computer, the printing issue should be resolved.
